While the image was taken prior to 1947, no author or original source means we don't know when the image was published so there's no evidence it's PD. VernoWhitney (talk) 19:37, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

KeepThis photo is taken in India, as per Indian copyright act image is in public domain. Can we change the licence as PD-india and keep the image?

In the case of original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works the 60-year period is counted from the year following the death of the author. In the case of cinematograph films, sound recordings, photographs, posthumous publications, anonymous and pseudonymous publications, works of government and works of international organisations, the 60-year period is counted from the date of publication.
- There is no publishing date, and indeed no source for this image given or an author, how do we know PD-India applies? Commons requires content to be public domain in the U.S. as well, which would work per Uruguay Round Agreements Act with an work published in India only if it had been published before 1941.
