Template for anonymous works which were in the public domain on the URAA date (usually 1/1/1996). Note that anonymous works are (usually) works where the author was not publicly identified, and not just works published or installed without the author's name. In addition, in most countries, works published anonymously no longer qualify as anonymous works if the author is publicly identified later (details vary). See Commons:Anonymous works.

A file description page for an anonymous work must make clear (i) why the work is public domain in the United States and (ii) why it is public domain in the source country (if not the US). The reason parameter is often useful for the second part.

The template automatically sets the following categories:
