[edit]How does your bot work
[edit]I wrote my bot in Perl: https://github.com/Derbeth/perlwiki - the repository contains some very brief documentation. It's quite tricky to install, because the Perl library for MediaWiki is no longer supported. It will need a new file naming rule, as the way you name your pronunciation files is not typical.
The basic idea is that the bot downloads the list of audio files from Commons and for each file tries to add it to Wiktionary. As result the bot runs for quite long if you haven't run it before. Next runs are faster as it remembers what has been done. --Derbeth talk 14:12, 1 June 2019 (UTC)

Accent and origin
[edit]Hello, Keane: Could you add where did you learn to speak English to commons and/or to the English wiktionary? If you have a particular accent, you can add it too. I need this information to tag your audios in the English, French and Spanish wiktionaries. Thank you very much. Adelpine (talk) 17:39, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Where exactly do I add this information? I learnt English in Brisbane, Australia. Thanks for working on audios. Commander Keane (talk) 23:02, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- You can add it to your user pages, such as https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Commander_Keane
If you have lived almost always in Brisbane and/or your parents are not from Australia, you can add that information, too. It could be useful for someone interested in the accents of Australia. Thanks to you for uploading so many audios. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adelpine (talk • contribs) 00:19, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- I added some info to my Commons user page :-) Commander Keane (talk) 00:34, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
LHM
[edit]Greetings, I noticed on enwiki that you've opened an ANI thread about Lighthumormonger (talk · contributions · Move log · block log · uploads · Abuse filter log) . Well good luck with that. enwiki is where I first noticed LHM's activity, which consisted of elaborate OR additions to a few Catholic articles. I tipped off another editor. I'm doubtful that LHM has been disruptive enough to warrant any action over there, but have at it. Elizium23 (talk) 22:58, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. Commander Keane (talk) 23:11, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
